Soft fabric, such as Egyptian cotton cloth, preshrunk
Scissors
Straight pins
Needle
Thread
Sewing machine
Iron
Ironing board
Buckwheat hulls – 4 lbs.
Buckwheat Pillow How-To:
1. Measure and cut two 17-by-21-inch rectangles of fabric.
2. Pin with
right sides together, 1/4 inch from the raw edge of both of the rectangles,
all the way around its perimeter. all the way around the pillow leaving a
5” opening on one of the narrower sides. Turn the pillow right side out and
press.
3. Fill the pillow generously with buckwheat hulls, leaving just enough
space for the hulls to move so the pillow is malleable. Whip-stitch the
opening to secure the pillow closed. Cover with a pillow case if you like.
